Our Studio.

Native Interior design is a New England based full-service interior design studio. We provide comprehensive design services for renovations and new construction, collaborating closely with architects and builders to thoughtfully shape architectural details, finishes, furnishings, and custom elements.

With a strong foundation in project management and clear communication, we guide each project from concept through completion, allowing clients — whether local or long-distance — to move through the design process with clarity and ease. Our experience working across both urban and rural landscapes informs a design approach that feels grounded, layered, and inspired by the natural world.

Natural materials and custom pieces are prioritized for every home. At the heart of our work is a belief that interiors should feel personal and enduring — spaces that support daily life and create a meaningful connection between home and those who live within it.

Interiors defined by place, material, and the way we live.

Michelle Winseck

Founder & Principal Designer

Michelle’s passion for interior design was shaped early by growing up with a building contractor as a father, instilling in her a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and custom homes. Early experience interning with interior designers in Western Massachusetts laid the foundation for a career devoted to thoughtful, well-crafted spaces.

She earned her BFA in Interior Design from The New England School of Art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts, with a minor in Art History, and studied abroad at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. During her time there, she received the IIDA New England Award for Best Undergraduate Student Design for her thesis work.

Before founding Native Interior Design Studio, Michelle spent decades leading residential design projects throughout New England,

mountain homes in Colorado, and estates in the British Virgin Islands, developing extensive experience in renovations, new construction, and custom furnishings.

After traveling and working across diverse landscapes, Michelle chose to settle in New England, where she feels deeply connected to both the architectural vitality of Boston and the natural beauty of the Berkshires. Now living in the rural suburbs outside the city and spending summers in the Berkshires with her husband and daughter, she draws daily inspiration from the balance of urban life and rural landscape. This duality informs her refined yet grounded design approach — one rooted in place, material, and the rhythms of everyday living.
